THS Type Roots Air Blower Supplier in Bangladesh
Trundean THS type roots air blowers from Taiwan for ETP, WTP, STP and aquaculture aeration, from 10 to 250 HP, supplied with installation and after-sales support by Techno Bangla Creation.
What Is a Roots Air Blower?
A roots air blower is a positive-displacement blower. Two rotors turn inside a casing and carry air from the inlet to the outlet in fixed pockets, giving a steady flow of low-pressure air. In ETP, WTP and STP plants it feeds air to diffusers so the water gets the oxygen its BOD, COD and DO levels demand.
A roots blower moves air but does not mix or filter water. The air goes to air diffusers in the tank, where bubbles supply oxygen and keep the biology mixed. For larger plants, compare our turbo blower.

How a Roots Air Blower Works
- Motor Drives the RotorsAn electric motor turns two meshing rotors, kept in step by timing gears.
- Clean Air EntersAir is drawn through an intake filter into the casing.
- Rotors Carry the AirAir is trapped between rotor and casing and pushed to the outlet without internal compression.
- Air Meets Back-PressureAt the outlet the air pushes through piping and diffusers against the water depth above them.
- Bubbles Feed the BiologyFine bubbles from the air diffuser dissolve oxygen and keep the water mixed.
Key Benefits
Aeration usually takes 50 to 60% of a treatment plant's energy, so the blower matters.
- Wide size range, with 10 to 250 HP motors for small to large aeration tanks
- Pressure up to 8000 mmAq covers typical tank depths plus pipe and diffuser losses
- Steady, oil-free air delivery for biological treatment and fish farm tanks
- Trundean states its designs cut noise by about 5 dB and control backflow pressure to lower energy use
- Simple design that is easy to service, and a sensible choice for stable loads
- Taiwan brand with local supply, installation and after-sales support from Techno Bangla
Roots Blower or Turbo Blower?
Choose a THS Roots Blower When
- The plant is small or medium and the air demand is fairly stable
- Tank depth is moderate and pressure stays under 8000 mmAq
- You want a simple machine your team can maintain
- Budget favors lower upfront cost
- Add a variable-speed drive if the load changes through the day
Choose a Turbo Blower When
- The plant is large and runs continuously at high airflow
- Energy cost over many years matters more than purchase price
- Air demand is steady enough to stay in the efficient range
- See our turbo blower for 180 to 5100 m3/h

How to Choose the Right Roots Air Blower
Share these details with our engineers and we will recommend a suitable model.
- Air demand. Estimate the air needed for your BOD load, in m3/min. Airflow decides the blower size, and diffuser type changes how much air you need.
- Discharge pressure. Pressure is water depth over the diffusers plus pipe and diffuser losses. Every 1 m of water is about 1000 mmAq (9.8 kPa). Depth is usually 80 to 90% of the pressure.
- Typical range. Many STPs land at 0.4 to 0.7 bar, which is 4 to 7 m of water. Underestimating pressure is a common mistake, and the air will then fail to reach the tank bottom.
- Duty and standby. Plan duty blowers for peak load plus one identical standby (N+1), so aeration never stops during service.
- Load changes and noise. If demand varies, ask about a variable-speed drive. Fit a silencer and ventilate the blower room, as roots blowers are noisy and heat the air.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I size a Trundean THS roots blower for my ETP aeration tank?
Two numbers decide it: air demand and discharge pressure. Estimate air demand in m³/min from your BOD load and diffuser type. Pressure is the water depth over the diffusers plus pipe and diffuser losses, where 1 m of water is about 1000 mmAq. Send both to our engineers and we’ll match the model.
What pressure and motor sizes does the THS type cover?
The Trundean THS type we supply covers models TH 80 to TH 300 A, with pressure from 0 to 8000 mmAq and motors from 10 to 250 HP. The supply is 380 to 440 V AC, 3 phase, 50 Hz. Airflow depends on the model, so send your air demand for selection.
How do I know what pressure my aeration tank needs?
Add the water depth above the diffusers to the pipe and diffuser losses. One metre of water is about 1000 mmAq. Depth alone is usually 80 to 90% of the total. Many STPs need about 4 to 7 m of water column, but your tank design sets the exact figure.
Roots, turbo or screw blower: which is better for aeration?
None is best for every plant. Roots blowers suit small to medium plants with steady loads and lower upfront cost. Turbo blowers suit large, continuous flows. Screw blowers are claimed to save about 30% energy over lobe blowers and handle higher pressure and changing demand. Choose by size, pressure and budget.
Why does my roots blower overheat?
Common causes are a clogged intake filter, low oil, a blocked or fouled diffuser raising back-pressure, or a hot blower room. These make the blower compress against more resistance and run hotter. Check the filter, oil level, diffusers and ventilation first, then call our engineers if the problem remains.
What maintenance does a roots blower need?
Clean or check the intake filter often, check belt tension and alignment, keep oil at the right level and change it by running hours, and log temperature and pressure. Test the relief valve and inspect the silencer too. Rotating the standby blower keeps both in condition.
Can I use a roots blower for fish farms and biofloc tanks?
Yes, aquaculture is a listed use for the THS type. Fish and shrimp tanks need dissolved oxygen, and biofloc tanks also need constant mixing to keep flocs suspended. A blower feeds diffusers or air tubes in the tank. Tell us the tank volume and depth so we can size it.
How can I get a quotation for a roots air blower?
Send your air demand, tank depth, motor power and use to our engineers by phone or email. We reply with a free quotation for your ETP, WTP, STP or water treatment equipment, including installation and after-sales support in Bangladesh.
